Re: Different Perspective on Invicta....
I can't and won't soften on Invicta. As I type this they're on EvineDead right now; the only times I tune in is during commercial breaks during sporting events, and that's rarely. Yet, it's like shooting fish in a barrel - just wait a few seconds and someone like Justin Zimmer will spout something so pie-in-the-sky that you know's it's total BS; just a few days ago he repeated the Russian Diver tall tale.
Frankly, I'm a little insulted when our esteemed OP chimes in that we'e been "butt raped" or whatever by IWG. That's beside the point; I personally never spent more than $100 on any of their stuff the few times I bought one. The bigger picture is what I see; this is a company that is only about seven years overdue in being held accountable for their awful business practices. Every single website, including Amazon's customer reviews, has reams of text - miles of it- detailing how people simply can't get their watches serviced by the very company that sold them. "For me any brand that has been a part of returning the timepiece back to its proper place on the wrists of the world is not a negative to me." Again, have a Coke and smile, huh; it's like claiming Takata airbags are still super-keen because they get big and white and fluffy, and we had nothing to save us back in the 1950s.
So, as a watch collector and admirer, I'm supposed to sit back and let people lie, bilk, and continue to make the term "Swiss Made" a travesty? Maybe I still have too much crusading journalist in me, but to me there's nothing wrong with seeing something blatantly wrong and calling it out. Methinks our new friend is a serious IWG fan boi, and that's fine, who cares - but playing the old "hater" card is so 2009. Those that think it's too "negative" here can take their Ocean Ghosts over to WIT, where the sun always shines, people write poems about Evine hosts, and every watch is hailed as "a classic timepiece with great style" by a raging simpleton.
