Kenissi - the next ETA of the Watch World?

Post by koimaster » March 31st 2022, 10:12am

Will Kenissi become the next ETA of the Watch World?

So after seeing the new Tag Heuer
AQUARACER PROFESSIONAL 1000 SUPERDIVER
that was recently released, I realised that it uses a Kenissi developed movement.

Some very good partnership's are being formed here and with many different brands.

They look nicer and more modern than the 2824.
ETA hasn't really done much since they introduced the C07's. Things could get interesting down the line if Kenissi is looking to expand into broad distribution to fill the void left by SWATCH's tightening the reins on ETA given the 20% stake Tudor and Kenissi sold to Chanel. From how Kenissis is proceeding so far, it appears they will hold their focus on exclusive collaborations for the foreseeable future. And they have produced some excellent new movements.

The movement designed for the Fortis triple GMT, for example, illustrates that the exclusive movements designed for brands are departures from the house movements they are based on and not just rebadged clones. The Fortis is a great looking watch and one of the coolest GMT's out there that will be a credit to the brand's standing.

Kenissi really has brought out some impressive movements; be interesting to see if ETA brings out anything new or seeks to work with any brands outside of SWATCH in response.
