Mechanical/Quartz Flieger Type B Watches

Post by koimaster » July 2nd 2019, 3:36pm

I do not have plans to purchase one any time soon but curious what members think of them. Laco, Stowa, Zeno, Hamilton, Seiko, Nomos and many others make their own versions of this watch.

I generally buy watches for my Shijiazhuang brother Ma Rong and his wife for a gift when I visit, and I looked closely at type-B fliegers. Although I decided in another direction, I'm pretty sure I would have gone with a Laco.

Guess that these days, copying the B-Uhr is the second most popular thing after copying the Submariner. Guess I like the looks of Stowa ones the most, but their slogan "Our bestseller since 1939" has me a wee bit pissed.
You cannot explain away a wantonly immoral act, because you think that it is connected to some higher purpose.

The krauts are not renowned for their tasteful ad copy.
