Panerai homages?

Post by koimaster » February 25th 2021, 4:23pm

Panerai homages such as Marina Militaire have been banned from forums for years as far as I can recall. With the influx of watches such as HR, San Martin, Dievas(?) have these type of watches and brands come out of the closet?

I thought they were banned if they said Marina Millitaire. Panerai has ownership of the name.
I’ve been looking at a SanMartin Radiomir that has a sterile dial and is 40mm. I won’t order if DHL is delivering though (they are on my $hit list). I would like to switch the dial when I get it.

I would like to mod it to a sterile dial like this.

It’s a 40mm, I can’t wear a big Panerai, so a small homage has been an option. Most homages aren’t even small. I wouldn’t get something that said Panerai or anything they trade marked, hence a sterile dial.

That was my recollection also. Wasn't there a guy in Florida that got sued over this?

Steeldive, Heimdall and the others seem to be everywhere.
