**WITHDRAWN** Diamond Wedding Set 14K White Gold

Post by biglove » September 14th 2014, 11:29am

Wedding set I inherited from my late aunt, aka "Crazy Aunt Shirley." I have no use for it so am hoping someone here can benefit. Looks like it is sized somewhere around a 6.

Appraised at $2400. Looking for ~$1000 via PayPal or ~$1200 in trade value. Negotiable!

For sale or trade to well known, active members of this forum only. I will cover insured shipping. Paypal only as "gift" option to avoid their nasty fees.

My eBay ID for further reference is "travnjensib" at: http://www.ebay.com/usr/travnjensib

I'm not married but if I were to buy them? I would do the one of the following?

1) Pawn them?

2) Sell on Ebay for double the $$$

3) Buy a few men's ring mounts online and make my own diamond rings.

4) Scrap the gold hoping I get a lot of $$$

5) Take the diamonds out and sell each one individually.

I'm pretty certain some guys here would try to use it as a cockring, but it'd probably slide off too easy.

So I am guessing no one could use this for maybe a child getting married on a budget or to have it remade for someone.

Oh, well. To the pawn shop it will go!

Just didn't want the hassle of haggling. Better than dealing with the hassle that Craigslist has become. I could donate it to charity and the tax break would be about $500 as a last resort.

No skin off my back as I have no investment in it financially or emotionally.

Hell, I would have traded it for a $500 watch in a heartbeat!

If I had a $500 watch lying around I would trade for it. I know a guy who works at a jewelry store
I probably could easily get $1,500 lol. Or trade for a Vintage Jager Lecoultre they have for sale at $1,800 :D

Crazy Aunt Shirley was married three times, had a mustache, and at one point had 16 dogs and 19 cats in a two bedroom house (not counting the ones outside!)

She spent $1000/month on cat food and cat litter.

Her house was so terrible that I sold it and her car for $1. We had to wear biohazard suits inside to retrieve family photos/papers.

Of note, she dated George Jones back in 1963 and I have a photos of the two of them together. He gave her, of all things, a ukelele, which I have and will eventually sell. Is a shame he didn't sign it.

Too many stories to tell of her nuttiness.

Did old George have to wear a biohazard suit to date her...? Of course, given his love for good old Tennessee sippin' whiskey, perhaps she was the one who needed the BH suit... Hey, wait a second, 'Loaf! Maybe she was the inspiration for his famous "He Stopped Lovin' Her Today (Mostly Accuz 'o Her 16 Dogs & 19 Cats)" song!

Oh, crap, Mort! I damn near fell out of my chair!

She didn't hit that kind of crazy until the '70s.

Never believed her stories of dating him then we found the pictures in her purse after she died. Crazy woman had those pics in her purse for fifty years! WTH!

Am guessing she had the 'stash back then. Was before I was born. That thing was in full fucking bloom by the early '90s. Scared the hell out of my kids!

My father, a man who rarely says a bad word about anyone, when I tried to "respect the dead" and described his late sister-in-law as "different," said, "Son, she wasn't 'different,' she was just nuts. She was nuts from childhood."

Will have to post that pic when I find it.
