Wow! UAB makes a tackle on the two yard line to save their win over the Miami Redhawks. final score, 24-20 for the Blazers.

The win should help boost the team which will be coached next year by former NFL quarterback, Trent Dilfer.
0-1 for me. . .

ORLANDO, Fla. -- — Gunnar Watson’s 12-yard scoring pass to RaJae’ Johnson in the third period put No. 23 Troy ahead to stay, and the Trojans forced five turnovers in an 18-12 come-from-behind win over No. 22 UTSA in the Duluth Trading Cure Bowl on Friday.

2-0 for me so far but it's way too early.

Today, there's the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, [the b]Cricket Celebration Bowl.[/b], the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl, the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented by Stifel, the LendingTree Bowl, the LendingTree Bowl, the New Mexico Bowl, and the Frisco Bowl, which is in a suburb of Dallas, Texas.

North Carolina Central beat Jackson St. in overtime, 41-34.

Louisville Cardinals beat their neighbors the Cincinnati Bearcats 24 - 7.

The mighty Oregon State Beavers are beating Florida 30 - 0 with time running out.

Meanwhile, the Anaheim Ducks are leading the Edmonton Oilers 3 goals to one in the second period. (for the ice hockey fans out there)

The Marshall Thundering Herd defeated the Huskies of the University of Connecticut 28-14 in the Myrtle Beach Bowl in South Carolina.

The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles defeated the Rice Owls 38-14.

The Brigham Young University Cougars held on to defeat the Mustangs of Southern Methodist University, 24-23 in the New Mexico Bowl. SMU failed to convert a two point play in the final seconds that would have given the win.

The Boise State Broncos beat the North Texas Mean Green, 35-32 in the Servpro Frisco Bowl.

here's a link:

https://www.espn.com/college-football/scoreboard

scores of games played and info. on upcoming matches.

Yesterday, The Eastern Michigan Eagles defeated the San José State Spartans, 41-27 in the Idaho Potato Bowl. Idaho, the state, is famous for growing potatoes.

Unfortunately, the Potato Bowl is played on the Boise State field with its hideous blue and orange astroturf artificial surface.

The Toledo Rockets just got past the Liberty Flames, 21-19 in the Boca Raton Bowl. Boca Raton is located in southern Florida and as such, is populated mostly by retired people.

I don't get to see most of the teams playing in these bowl games very often during the regular season. The teams usually don't know each other so predicting wins is difficult and one never knows how well or bad the game will go. Some of these matches have been pretty exciting even though I've never seen either of the teams play.

Later in the bowl game schedule, the more recognizable teams will play and more people will watch but that's no guarantee the games will be more exciting.

My team, Alabama, has a number of players that will sign top dollar contracts to play professionally but they have still decided to play in their last bowl game and risk getting injured; which could potentially cost them millions. But they could also catch crabs from some lovely lady they met at a church social and spend the game scratching instead of winning so they might as well play.

Oregon Duck fans, I see Bo Nix has decided to remain for one more year. This caused a five star recruit to go elsewhere but a four star recruit to change his mind and decide to go to Oregon.

Thanks. I'll check my progress when we finish up for the year.

Well, I've tallied up my score and I'm at a dreadful 7 - 12 win/loss.

Lots more bowl games coming up; the Washington Huskies will be playing on Thursday, 29 December.

The Tennessee/Clemson match should be a good one. Same for Notre Dame vs. South Carolina; if SC can keep the momentum they had in their last few games. The Gamecocks were looking pretty good.

Mississippi State is the emotional favorite to stomp on Illinois after the death of their coach and I frankly can't believe Illinois is really that good. Illinois? Really?

And Alabama better not overlook that quarterback playing for Kansas State; he's a beast.

I really think the Championship match comes down to Georgia and Michigan, with Georgia just being too strong for Michigan.

But hey, I'm not doing so hot in this game so take my predictions with half a grain of salt.

East Carolina destroys Coastal Carolina, 53-29.

Wisconsin withstood a late charge by Oklahoma State to win 24-17.

The Mighty Oregon Ducks, predicted to win everything, did in fact reign victorious over North Carolina, 28-17.

The Duke Blue Devils won easily over the University of Central Florida Knights, 30-13. The Duke quarterback was a one-man wrecking ball.

And HOLY COW! After being down 31-7, the Kansas Jayhawks came roaring back to tie the game at 38-38 to force overtime. But in the third overtime, the Arkansas Razorbacks stopped Kansas' 2-pt. attempt to win the game, 55-53. Never say die. And don't fall asleep at the wheel.

The Red Raiders of Texas Tech had no trouble with the Olé Miss Rebels, 42-25.

Only time will tell how the Washington Huskies will fare in their contest against the Texas Longhorns.

In other news, Tennessee beat Clemson in the appropriately named Orange Bowl, 31-14. Both teams wear orange in their uniforms.

Pittsburgh beat UCLA by scoring a late field goal to win, 37-35.

Notre Dame, God's team, beat South Carolina 45-38.

The Maryland Terrapins beat the NC State Wolfpack, 16-12, in a game with lots of field goals and very few touchdowns. Yawner or epic defensive battle.

The Bobcats of Ohio kicked a field goal to tie the game at 24-24 against the Wyoming Cowboys. Wyoming only managed a field goal while Ohio got a touchdown to win the game in overtime, 30-27.

Okay, I thought Michigan would easily handle TCU (Texas Christian University) but the Horned Frogs jumped out to a big lead in the first half. Michigan kept shooting itself in the foot with fumbles and poor defense.

In the second half, Michigan has made a game out of it but they then give up yet another long touchdown play to TCU.

Not sure I can survive the fourth quarter but as an SEC fan, I'd love to see TCU win.
