Denmark midfielder 'stabilised' in hospital after collapsing on pitch - live updates

Denmark's Euro 2020 game against Finland was suspended after Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field, in distressing scenes in Copenhagen.

Eriksen, the former Tottenham midfielder, was given CPR treatment by medical staff as stunned team-mates watched on in tears, with the game called off around 6pm.

Three minutes before the end of the first-half, Eriksen fell to the floor as he ran to control the ball from a throw-in, with no players near him, and English referee Anthony Taylor immediately called for assistance.

No, Danish, come on now.

Why, are the Dutch more likely to get that?
Anyways, he is conscious. Game to be resumed in 15 min

@cod - shut up. At least it is not boring baseball. But personally I would also rather watch football.
Ardnut since 1989

In twenty years or so, the German language will be one, massively long compound word.

Come on what? I (proudly) admit I don’t know anything about soccer. But it’s physically demanding and at this level pays millions, correct? If so PEDs are being used. Super fit young people, as a rule, don’t collapse. I’m talking heart issues. Maybe it isn’t the heart but in either event you can bank on the fact that PEDs are used in every major sport and plenty of minor ones.
And I am casting no aspersions. How many people at the Oscars have been under the knife? It’s kind of the same thing (unless you game the system, then it’s more like the Hollywood black list).
And the Dutch, historically, don’t know when enough is enough with EPO. Did he play for a Dutch team? Wait, Danish! Holy smokes! Remember Bjarne Riis? He was known as Mr. Fifty Percent because of his blood hematocrit level. Won the Tour de France then melted down on the road with rage the next year.
