Longines certainly knows how to bring its historical models back to life. Most of these attractive vintage-inspired models are congregated in the Heritage collection, including the Classic Sector Dial, the Tuxedo Chronograph and the Legend Diver. Historical designs are not the exclusivity of this collection, however, and the brand with the winged hourglass logo often includes them in its more traditional ranges. Case in point, the new Longines Evidenza collection of tonneau-shaped models for 2022, which now comes equipped with elegant and vintage-ish sector dials. And in a wide array of colours.


The Longines Evidenza might not be the most sought-after collection of the brand, but it has a legitimate background and is a reinterpretation of a tonneau-shaped model launched over a century ago. Simple, slightly different, and very elegant, it is meant to fit men’s and women’s wrists with its compact dimensions. The case is 26mm in width and just over 30mm in length. Small on paper, but also good for those who want that retro feel of a compact watch. A new detail, all models have a crown tube in blue-coloured aluminium.

Not vintage, not a sector dial, not worth consideration.

Make the date window the same color as the dial; like you put some thought into it or something.

Or better yet, don't put a date window on it at all.

What man is going to wear a watch that small? It's not like we got telescopic vision.
