It’s vintage, it’s slim, it’s Casio

Post by koimaster » July 12th 2019, 10:32am

I know, I know – back-to-back days of Casio news. Well, I don’t control when they’re releasing things, particularly stuff that will be found interesting by you, our readers. They just recently hit up some updates to something that will look instantly familiar to many, the Casio Vintage.

To be fair, the Casio Vintage is actually a full lineup / collection, and they’re just adding three new watches to it. I just have a hard time referring to watches by reference numbers. That aside, all three models share the same look and feel, and functionality (LCD display, calendar, alarm, stopwatch, and LED backlight). Where they start to vary is in the finish, and in the strap used (and pricing). This is how they break down:

A700W-1A (Silver; MSRP: $33.95)
A700WM-7AVT (Silver w/Milanese band; MSRP: $59.95)
A700WMG-9AVT (Gold w/Milanese band; MSRP: $74.95)

To my eye, these look like upgraded versions of the classic black Casio watch that just about everyone had at some point in their lives. And hey, if you want a good-looking vintage-inspired quartz watch – that’s affordable – you could certainly do worse for yourself than these new versions. casio.com

He is an organ.

I hope these are metal cases and not plastic.
As far as I can tell it's plastic. Bought this off of eBay for a decent price some months back. never posted about it because I'm very unimpressed by it. Actually too small and too thin.

John Biggs is Robert Gattshall with a better PC.
WatchGeeks will go down in watch forum history as the worst watch related site that existed. Trolls, threats, bannings, and owners and sponsors talking out of their collective asses to fleece people out of hard earned money. - Koimaster

These "retro" Casios all have a plastic case, as far as I know. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying my A168.
