The box is, indeed, somewhat cool. What is not cool is how easily Archie Luxury will spread his revoltingly pendulous butt cheeks for shit at no other cost to hisownself.

Previously, Archie Luxury spread his appallingly pendulous butt cheeks for some Arab sheik--

Free joke:

Q: Why are camels called ships of the desert?

A: Because they are full of Arab semen!

Anyway, way back, Archie, for whatever reason, spread his GODAM butt cheeks for some fucking Arab or other; since then, he had spread his horrifically distended butt cheeks for, well, anybody who would send him some money. It would show up on his fridge, Frank from Idaho's body shop needed some Pay for Play, and budda-bing! in would go Frankie's dick into Archie's shithole. And Frankie could pump away, motor-boating Archie's arsehole.

Anything for a LV box.

Lewis Wantan is overpriced shit.
I dunno, gerd. I've been carrying a LV pen/pencil case in green leather from the Taiga collection (picture from an e-bay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174756517625?h ... SwRUpgkJGI) as a glasses case for nearly 20 years now. Still looks practically new. Can't speak for the signature canvas stuff that Archie likes, but there's nothing wrong with Louis V's leather goods.

I love LV... almost as much as Rolex. I have a lovely duffle, wallet, brief case, coin purse, and pen case. I'd have more (like my wife does). ...

But I'm just a humble understated guy. I like quality pieces.

LV is a bit shit. I bought a Taiga wallet when I got married. It was well made, lasted about 5 years before it started looking tatty. Well made, not bad durability but nothing special, and very expensive. Got a RM Williams now, 1/3 of the price, just as well cut and stitched together, and the leather came from a cow that clearly defecated on LV cows from a great height.

Maybe so, but does it say LV LV LV LV LV LV LV LV. Everywhere? If not, you should check yourself.

Oh yeah, nearly forgot - has the added advantage of not saying LV LV LV LV LV LV LV LV everywhere.

I absolutely mean no offense with this post, but that pic reminded me of a car I saw yesterday, which was just awesome (and I mean that sincerely). It was an old, I think, Caprice that was painted purple with a white vinyl top. It had the largest wheels I've ever seen, easily 24" with impossibly low profile tires. It was jacked up. And the paint had a subtle design stenciled over it which was a series of Ralph Lauren polo logos and dollar bill signs. I really should have taken a picture of it, and I really did love it, but I was a little worried that I'd get my ass beat so I didn't. There was what was clearly a sister car parked next to it (virtually identical except for paint) but it was a Dallas Cowboys motif so not nearly so cool. Thing is, I'll bet if the guy who owned that car could see the above pic he'd kick himself for not thinking to use the LV logo.

So something like this. Keep it on the down low, this used to be foghorns ride. Parked outside a Mens Wearhouse no less, imagine the zoot suits purchased that day.

Is the leather top grain?
RMW feels like full grain although I haven't seen it confirmed. Hard to tell with the LV Taiga as it's so heavily processed. Can't speak for other LV leathers, but you'd assume at those prices it's full grain.

IIRC, it's top grain, but I never actually sold that shit, so I can't be sure. Interestingly, when I was in the luggage/fine leather business, we got in a LV duffle that had supposedly been damaged by Air France. At the old Emporium luggage in Chicago, we used to do plenty of luggage repairs from most of the big airlines, including AF. Anyway, a lady brought in an LV duffle that was damaged. I inspected it, and realized that it was a fake (this was back in the 1990s) and told her so; the stitching was horrible, the lining was bullshit, etc. I told her it wasn't worth repairing.

The lady got pissed, and said she had paid $200 for it. Now, we billed Air France at least ten grand a year for damaged luggage, so I knew where my bread was buttered; she hadn't bought the fake from us, so she could go fuck herself.

It turned out, according to my sources back then, that hundreds of yards of the LV leather had been stolen, for use in fakes.

I thought LV was a quality product intended to be kept, maintained and repaired. A few years after I bought my wallet a thread had started to work loose. I took it to the Marina Bay boutique and asked if they'd take a look, figuring they'd fix it on the house as it was only just out of warranty. They quoted a price something like 1/2 to 2/3 the price of the wallet to do the repair, then told me I'd be better off buying a new one.

Fuck Louis Vuitton. Fuck them up their fucking arse with a rusty fucking coat hanger.

Clearly they had no interest in repairing your item and priced that repair accordingly. They'd much rather sell you a new one. You should have taken it to your local shoe repair guy. They're experienced with all types and grades of leather and how to fix them. A stitching repair on a wallet shouldn't cost more than $20 or so. My shoe guy has made several stitching repairs for me on "fine" leather goods. You can't tell the repair from the original. I haven't needed any repairs on the LV glasses case. Even though I've been using it for nearly 20 years, unlike a wallet, it mainly stays in one of the cars with my sunglasses in it. I am still using a Coach wallet in alligator. I bought it in 1996 and carry it every day. That alligator wears like iron and the finish has gained a nice patina - undoubtedly from its proximity to my ass. That's one that my shoe guy did a stitching repair on. I did lay it on the counter the other day while finishing a transaction and the clerk remarked "That's a beautiful wallet". I suspect they'll bury me with it. Quality is worth the price.

An LV duffle for $200? There's a sucker born etc. etc. etc.
