Had Mort, or whatever the fuck he likes to call himself at WIT-less, had come to the truth and confessed his true origins--which weren't bad, by any means--as a life long officer in the US Navy there is no shame, particularly from a non-serving fuck like me--we would have shrugged our shoulders and so, So Fucking What?
Indeed. What's not to be proud of in a 21 year career in the uniform of this country where he earned the second highest rank prior to the issuance of stars? I guess we'll never really know precisely, but for whatever reason, Mort's career became a trifle - 21 years of service and steady advancement spun into fairy tale of flying jets in combat, a bully pulpit, and a frolic for sympathy.
When all of this bullshit started and I did a little research, I was surprised to learn that about half of valor frauds have actually served, and that their performance tends to persist for life, even if they have been exposed. That is not to say, however, that these folks are not adaptable.
After he was banned from Watchlords, the transition of Mort into Mr. Jingles, the death row mouse in the Stephen King classic The Green Mile
, is a good case in point.
Although Mr. J staunchly persists in his valor fraud at WIT, he has
, on the other hand, cooled his jets on the personal attacks and is able to mix in and stay put on a board that stresses the niceties of forum conduct (no use of vulgar or disturbing avatars, not intercepting
and keeping pass around watches, and sew fourth) and respectful discourse.
So, while the WIT crew is aware of Mort's valor fraud, thievery, and his bullying and personal attacks directed at members here at Watchlords, because the members of WIT have not been directly subjected to any of Mort's most offensive bullshit by their Mr. J, they are yet able to empathize.
As a result, and in the end what really counts, is that Mr. J has found a new home--- far away from us.
