Inspired by Elvis: Three Hamilton Ventura Anniv Editions

Post by Racer-X » April 8th 2017, 10:39pm

by Mark Bernardo "Among the flurry of watch-world milestones commemorated in 2017 is the Jan. 3, 1957 launch of the Hamilton Ventura, the world’s first electrical battery-powered wristwatch — later made even more famous as the watch worn by Elvis Presley in his 1961 movie, Blue Hawaii. On the occasion of this iconic timepiece’s 60th anniversary, Hamilton is launching a trio of new models inspired by the original, including an ultra-modern, avant-garde skeleton version."

My wife actually owns a women's Ventura for about 10 years now; she always wanted one and we finally got one. I saw it at Ashford for some dumb low price and pounced on it.

A couple years back, they came up with some "Elvis" Ventura autos that I certainly would wear, but not the ones in that article.

Pirates as well. I mean, lumberjacks don't like pirates. That would be creepy. I mean, pirates like diamonds and shit.
I find tv watches to be like the guys who raise their truck you need a fricken ladder to get in. It’s a attempt to look cool... that’s all.

Well ok then. A pirate, now that's where it is at. Cool. I await you and Conj's stories of pirating. They should be very explicit and fascinating.

At 28mm, I get the feeling you'd blow apart that Hamilton with your massive, wood-choppin' wrist.
