REO, mainly known for Pop/Rock hits in the 80's, made some killer rock music.

Had one of the most under appreciated lead guitarists - Gary Richrath

My favorite songs of theirs

Golden Country
Roll with the Changes
Ridin' the Storm Out
The aforementioned - Back on the Road Again
157 Riverside Avenue
Like you Do
The Flying Turkey Trot
Time for me to Fly

All in all - a good rock band

Have always considered REO a 80's love ballad band.

Pretty much what Styx became after their Crystal Ball album in '76 unfortunately ( Mr. Roboto, Babe anyone?).

They were not alone......... the eighties were not good to other rock bands like Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Kiss, Queen, Genesis, Fleetwood Mac, others, etc., etc.

They definitely got tagged that way - and migrated further towards that in the late 80's - one of the main reasons that Gary Richrath left/fired/quit in 1989. Musical differences between him and Kevin Cronin (lead singer).
