I can say that I had the pleasure of seeing Mile Davis live about six years before he died. My wife also sold him some crafts at a crafts store she used to work in back in the 1980s in NYC. He was gracious and particularly nice, as she recalls.

As I sit here, I'm listening to "Salt Peanuts" by Dizzy Gillespie, man.
