If it had the retro 'Chronomaster' text as well as the eagle I'd be extremely tempted (watches with both are very rare).

I have been looking at the AQ4xxx Citizens, one of these seems likely for next purchase

You're paying for the case, bracelet, hands, dial... movements only cost a few hundy, max. But yeah, still crazy money.

You can pick up one of these aq4000 models for <1200 USD new and shipped. It is The Citizen, chronomaster, eagle is in back,steel case with duratec, this is the amish version, no text/eagle on dial, no crown guards or washi paper dial but same level of finishing. There is a black dial and blue fume versions as well.

The AQ4050 has both the eagle and script on dial. Nice flashy blue, comes on the black strap

Always been a big fan of Citizens but yeah, that price !!

The AQ4100 rocks it in blue. 1850 USD thanks to exchange rate

I love the 4050 but I'm leaving towards Super Titanium for this one. There may also be CITES issues importing the strap and I'd hate to have it confiscated by customs. It's one I'll be looking for when I go to Malaysia and Singapore later this year.
