Ok I cracked the code on this piece and it is a poor man’s 60s King/Grand Seiko tribute.

Generally it fits with a certain form factor, big round dial with lugs sticking out

And the hands indices and silver dial, all grayscale, along with occasional black or blue variants was kind of the law back then seems like

Now one could stop at 60s salaryman tribute because those elements were common to all brands

However one can narrow it to Kimg/Grand Seiko because the case reflectsGrammar of Design principles that would be worth another post

So I’m looking and thinking all this amd therd isn’t anything in English from citizen on it

So I went sifting through Japanese site and found that the NB1050 series is the Mechanical Classics collection

So retro by design

So there you have it Lords. And this is a Watchlords exclusive, no other reviewer or commenter has made this observation

But yeah poor man’s King Seiko reissue no doubt

Even the crown is small, about halfway between 60s KS and a typical modern dress watch

The Citizen case bears a sting resemblance to King Seiko 5625~7120. Stick hands as well

The NB1060, an internationally distributed follow on to the NB1050 line, went with dauphin hands and slimmed down indices

This is a non lume model with a fancy lacquer dial as the hook

I thought a black Corsican would look great on this.

Citizen seems to agree as they outfitted the follow on and very similar NB1060-04a with such.

So J figured go with OEM, Sakura sourced it and it is on its way.

Not cheap I might add and the NB1060 goes for almost twice the NB1050 at MSRP. The strap has to be a big part of that as the mall watch bracelet on the NB1050 had to cost citizen nearly nothing.

Clasp is signed to do another point for OEM.

If they do a nice bracelet on a follow on model I hope it is a beads of rice

Going back in the catalog, the rather similar LordMatic 5601-9000 had such, lotta historical precedence. And this is a modern classic model so . . .

And looks appropriate etc imo
