Re: On the way: Citizen NB1050-59A
Ok I cracked the code on this piece and it is a poor man’s 60s King/Grand Seiko tribute.
Generally it fits with a certain form factor, big round dial with lugs sticking out
And the hands indices and silver dial, all grayscale, along with occasional black or blue variants was kind of the law back then seems like
Now one could stop at 60s salaryman tribute because those elements were common to all brands
However one can narrow it to Kimg/Grand Seiko because the case reflectsGrammar of Design principles that would be worth another post
So I’m looking and thinking all this amd therd isn’t anything in English from citizen on it
So I went sifting through Japanese site and found that the NB1050 series is the Mechanical Classics collection
So retro by design
So there you have it Lords. And this is a Watchlords exclusive, no other reviewer or commenter has made this observation
But yeah poor man’s King Seiko reissue no doubt
Even the crown is small, about halfway between 60s KS and a typical modern dress watch
