For a long time now it felt like Citizen was holding back on the mechanical dive watch front, inexplicably refusing to show their full potential (new watch with an 8215 inside, anyone?). Now they've released a diver that has it all, with stylistic details recalling significant lines such as the the 1,300 m and OG Aqualands. The movement is the new 9051, cased in Super Titanium with Duratect MRK:









Only about a grand Aussie, which seems extremely reasonable. Should be properly cheap on the used market in a couple of years. I thought I was largely over divers but I'd have one of these.

Citizen is phasing out the application of lume. Most people nowadays just use their phone to tell the time.

It is, indeed, the Arab Strap. I saw this once, back in college, in an advertisement in Club magazine. Needless to say, it made quite an impact on my young mind.

Interestingly, having taken the time to check on duckduckgo--as I don't want all my visits to other websites invaded with pop-ups of weird leather slings for one's balls--Arab Strap is now referring to some Scottish band. However, apparently, you can still buy an Arab Strap that you can twist around your balls. Why this is a thing, or still a thing, I have no idea. It's just funny to say, like "Carrot Top." Carrot Top is, himself, completely unfunny. He's weird and stupid and not funny at all, but mentioning his name in any context, like, "Henry Kissinger and Carrot Top got together to talk about world peace." is funny. Don't ask me why.

Considered this one, but wasn't sold on the bezel. Still getting Citizen Super Titanium though on Friday when my Autozilla comes in. Not my picture, credit to DWC and 425Ranger who's watch that is, but mine will look much the same.

Not a bad looking watch but it's big enough it ought to have some cable on it.

This watch is a boring piece of crap. Anybody who posts pics of it, or links to reviews of it, is a fucking dick.

The dial reminds me of the Orca

I'm ok with 46mm (I love my OS300), but it looks to be pretty tall. That is the thing that most affects wearability for me.

I think Citizen divers are the bomb. I also, however, think it's kind of oversized. Not bad looking tho; I'll see if I can check on out in the wild, now that we can all go around NYC again like we used to.
