IWTBMHA: Expensive Rope!

Post by jason_recliner » October 13th 2022, 6:04pm

What the hell is going on here?

I'm not paying 250 Eurotrash-dollars for a piece of Omega rope unless it come with packaging. it's not like I'm Bill gates or Eva Mendez over here.

Looks like it was made with those kiddee crochet loops that they make potholders with.

For that price the clasps should be at least 14K not stainless steel. Eurotrash consider anything under 18k junk jewelery though.

money-fool-parted or more money than brains.

I knew a guy that had a wine store in Memphis. After getting repeated requests for "the most expensive wine ya got", he ordered a case of some Bordeaux that he priced at $3k a bottle.

Sold every one of them; none of them to people that knew a damn thing about wine. The people that bought them had won big at the casino or closed a big business deal and wanted something besides Miller Lite and Cristal champagne is for gangsters.

Brother-in-law gets requests for quotes on jobs that he really doesn't want so he highballs them. Still gets them because nobody else would even bother to quote the job.

So Omega and lots of other "fashion" brands do the same thing, knowing there will be some idiots, fools, discerning patrons that will buy whatever their brand shoves at them.

Might be collectable if one attended the Volvo event and lost the rope that came packaged in a set with a commemorative pin included in the schwag bag handed out on the US leg's VIP observation vessel which also included an adjustable Omega hat, leatherette warlet, washable/reusable seasick bag, $10 off coupon towards the online purchase of an Omegaswatch, and a tin of 8 Dramamine™ tablets, — items which the selfish bastard seller has obviously kept for their damn self. Fuck that selfish fuckin' fuck.

Yep, some people are simply sheeple that purchase fashion watches based on what they see at Olympic Games, peddle bike races, tennis & golf matches, etc.
Omega, Rolex & Tag Heuer comes to mind.

Not everyone possesses the fine taste or knowledge of non-fashion Timex, Fossil and/or Chinese homage watches , the fashion watch lemmings will purchase what they are told to.

I can only imagine the admiration independent folks must have seeing the BASM I really want to wear in public tomorrow for Halloween

But unfortunately I have yet to purchase a matching orange shirt for it-------- so I'll probably end up wearing a Breitling fashion watch.

That watch would look swell with some orange Filipino safety shoes.
