That's a nice, no-nonsense dive watch.

I'll bet the Lume is amazing.

Watchlords should do some side-by-side comparisons: this Tudor Black Bay against the Seiko 5 Sports. Newbies just look at appearances and figure why not go with the cheaper watch. Or, they look at the brand name and buy it sight unseen with zero appreciation for what they have purchased except they read in GQ that Tudor's were cool.

Here's a comparo for you: Tooter Black Bays are amazing, but expensive. Seiko 5er Sports are shit, but cheap. If you can afford Tooters, buy them. You can go into an AD and get one without having to blow the AD manager. If you can't afford a Black Bay, save up until you can, then buy one. If you are working minimum wage, then buy the Seiko and put up with the angst.

I love what Tudor has done. They've brought what is otherwise unattainable to the masses.

Massive newer Blackbay.

I will pick up one of these smaller ones when I can.
The 6205 and 5508 are 37mm BTW. 40mm subs didn't start until 5512/5513s.

A bit diminutive for me but a good value as is the entire BB lineup at $4,000 'ish with MT COSC movements. Get 'em while they're hot at one of the new Tudor Boutiques.

IDK about the 5's but JDM Seikos could be a more affordable default, I reckon.

Or get 'em next year for less.

I just now (4/26/2023) checked watchrecon.

54's range from$4,600 to $4,750.

Lets check back 4/26/2024 on Mr Underscore's prediction.

I'm going to guess they will be trading at $3,500 next year when the dust settles.
They're readily available on the street at $3800 now — $3825 on the bracelet and $3625 on a strap at Feldmar and Reeds, both AD's.
