Left-Handed Rolex GMT Master II

Post by koimaster » April 27th 2022, 8:37am

What Will We Call The New Left-Handed Rolex GMT Master II?

To paraphrase harry Potter "it shall not be named"

Rolex’s GMT Master models have already gained a multitude of nicknames over the years: From the classic root beer through the Pepsi to the more recent blue and black Batman the only thing more creative than Rolex’s team of designers is the community of watch lovers who come up with the unofficial names for them! What will watch-fans settle on as the name for this new GMT Master model which was unveiled at the Geneva Watches & Wonders 2022 show?
It’s a Rolex – But Not As You Know It!

The latest Rolex model – Ref. 126720VTNR – is, to all intents and purposes a mirror image of the standard GMT models. Both crown and date are on the 9 O’clock side of the timepiece, which has led to some questions as to whether the Swiss brand inadvertently put the movement in the wrong way up! It shares the same ref. 3285 – the 4Hz, 70-hour power reserve in-house calibre as the standard GMT Master II models in the brand’s line-up.

My word, is there no end to the Crown's demonstrations of watchmaking mastery? The crown and the date on the left? Why, this watch must have required never before seen feats of watchmaking to produce these complications, and several new patents related to keeping this masterpiece from running backwards. How do they do it? And green and black - who but the Rolex design genieuses could have ever conceived of such novel colourways? No doubt this masterpiece will be tough to find a nickname for, indeed. I'd like to throw my hat into the nickname frenzy if I may be so bold and suggest this spectacular watch be called after the majestic Fiddler Beatle.

Dislike most lefthand watches.
There is something, well, perverted and twisted about them.
As for giving it a name, can't the fucking Crownheads grow up?
Blueseys, Batmans, blah blah.
I say: Dickheads!
As a Southpaw, I proudly wear my watches on my right wrist and the crown never pokes me. I don't understand why you guys wear your watches on your left wrist and then complain about the crown stabbing your wrist. :sarc:

No need for a lefthand watch unless you've just run out of ways to fleece entice your buyers.

Well , I reckon the Crown has to do the best they can what with their most complicated watch being an annual calendar / GMT, which, to be fair and balanced, did receive several patents and is a very cool watch. Other than that watch, Rolex, so what, complicationally speaking. A lefty in that simple line up is quite a big deal, indeed. /s
