most divisive watch on earth

Post by koimaster » January 29th 2021, 11:42pm

This is why a gold Rolex is still the most divisive watch on earth

“I’m a working class lad from Lancashire,” Michael Bisping said in a recent interview. “I’ve got a solid gold Rolex but I never wear it, because I feel like an absolute wanker.” Right there, with the concussive force of one of his left hooks, the former MMA fighter nails that vague sense of unease that every owner of a gold Rolex must navigate. That’s because no other watch can trigger such a flood of polarising emotions that range from searing envy to sanctimonious disdain. A gold Rolex isn’t just a watch, it’s a divisive psychodrama with more baggage than a luggage carousel.

Place me in the gold Rolex envy camp!

Cecil;
Though not a Rolex, I'm hoping to purchase a rose gold Chronomaster some day............... and won't give a shit of what others may think.

I'd love to have a gold day-date.

I am probably not remembering this correctly, but: Wasn't a gold Rolex the watch that got literally swiped off boxing trainer Lou Duva's wrist when he got carried off on a stretcher following the Andrew Golota - Riddick Bowe "low blow" fight in 1996?

I love Rolex.

I love gold Rolex even more.

Hope to figure out a nice platinum day date in 3.25 years, but I don't pay retail and the secondary marker has at least doubled. I may settle for a Tridor with pyramid dial to mind the void until I grow up enough to get platinum.
