New forum request

Post by svaglic » February 22nd 2018, 9:00pm

Grilling.

I love grilling and have seen others on here post grill shots.
Would a grilling forum where we could post how to's be a bad idea?
In memory of TB/Phfluff, since he isn’t here to continue to give his praise, I will share it for him.

Hello Jamaica
This is my barrel bbq. It was made by a bunch of kids, fresh out of jail, who are in a programme aimed at getting them back into the workplace. I also have a Weber kettle for slow cooks.

I, frankly, would enjoy viewing more grilling shots here. It'll give me something to drool over other than codguy's avatar.

I don't know anything about grilling other than that doing so on a balcony while a hurricane is blowing through is inadvisable.

On the topic in general - you have inspired me to attempt my first video upload. This isn't called grilling - I believe it's called "cooking" and it happens in a place called Sukhothai which is about 300 miles north of Bangkok and close to Myanmar and Laos. Get far enough out in the country and grilling becomes mandatory hence loses a lot of its charm. Same applies here I suppose if you're the Unabomber.

Those that attended the non-WG GTG in Longview will recognize the cook. Embedding Vimeo still eludes me so some clickage is in order. Only 1.5 minutes - intended to illustrate the kitchen layout only. Oddly enough the rice steamer is electric.

I am always up for some grilling/smoking tips and recipes. Here's a Traeger full of pork shoulder. If your gonna do pulled pork do 30 pounds at a time. Eat some, give some away, freeze some for homemade chili later.

Unless we are talking about whole-roasted piglets (I would call them a German specialty), You might be disappointed. Barbeque and grilling are tremendously popular, but we don't have a lot of tradition of our own in this sport.

^^Now that looks good..a friend of mine from Puerto Rico does pigs like that, about once a year..I believe his coals lie on a bed underneath and not off to the side, though..

A lot of fat will drip down, if the coal is underneath You will constantly have flames and get a burned taste to it. This is not about hot air, but radiation heat, so coming from the side is fine.

I guess shoes are easier to come by than gloves.

P.S. --- Might not be the right place or maybe I'm missing it ----- what happened to the Invicta Forum? I know I most always would check it. Please don't 'blast' me if it's been answered, but I am curious. Thanks, Tom

I don't think there is a dedicated Invicta forum anymore. If you look in the Board Index under Watch Brands there is an Invicta and other TV watches forum.

Another pellet grill guy here.
Own two of these, one for my main residence and one for the cabin (though in a silver vein powder coat verses bright red)..

Love the slow & low heat cooking on them, be it ribs, turkey, ham, etc.
-----> Admittedly, we do not spend a bunch of time with recipes and prep. Cram the meat in and take off for 4+ hours of water skiing/sun worshipping.
Beats the fuck out of actually working at it!

I'll have to take a pic of my San Miguel beer keg charcoal BBQ grill I had made when I lived in the Philippines. It's the grill I use at my shop and still going strong some 40 years later.

And for TB........

Grilling?

I've got a sound recording of me giving some aggressive, entitled fuck at Sky UK a hard time because they refused to cancel an out-of-term contract. Kept it in case I needed to drag them into court.
