Default
After reading his facebook page and discovering he is not registered in alabama under stolas or any other claimed names, i have contacted the madison county sheriff. I never gave this guy money but a lot of people have and have not received a refund.

Maybe some might be able to get a refund.

What a POS! And you can still "pre-order" this wartch on his website. Sure, we can't actually produce a watch for your cash. Sure, we aren't refunding monies paid two years ago. Sure, we will be happy to take new, naive peoples' money.

How do assclowns like this escape prosecution?

Agree. If you cannot see it in person, fuck it until you can.

...but it's got a cable around the bezel, for fuck's sake! Don't any of you supposed watch know-it-alls know that it takes all sorts of extra time to add a complex design element like that? Just keep sending those checks and keep your fingers crossed - yours might be on its way right now!

It's certainly interesting to find a watch company that's actually worser than Invicter, but Stolas (as in, we stolas your money!) seems like the winner. After all, if you have such poor taste as to want cables on your tymepeace and send Invicter money, they'll actually send you a Wartch with cabels. It is, of course, arguable that actually having the sayd Wotch in your home or on Ewer rist is more werse Then knott having juan.

No sense in letting this guy skate. Just a reminder why paying up front for a pre-order can be a bad idea.

One of the many reasons I won't give someone more than 50.00 on a preorder. I believe If you're preordering that it should be just a hold to make sure you get one not to provide the money to pay your vendors. If you don't have the money to pay vendors or rent than why be in business? To me it's a scam plain and simple. This bothers me to no end with shell companies.

Yup. In this hobby, it's never wise, no matter what. I assume that anybody who asks for pre-order money up front is using the cash to pay his vendors instead of putting his own money down--thus shifting the risk to his customers. This may well have been the issue with La Mink stiffing everyone with his never-made tourbillon--although it seems that he, at least, refunded most of the money.

You want to sell me a watch? Then put up your own money, build the fucking thing, and we can talk. Otherwise, go fuck yourself.

What does WUS have to do with this?

The brand was highly promoted over at WUS and if that occurs, cattle run over each other to get to the water (watch). WUS is famous for selling forum brands which would never fly elsewhere. Look at Doxa which finally admitted it came out with the dive watches again in response to forum request (they had been pushing). Same with a few other brands. At one time they were pushing Ernest benz, lower end angular momentums and other shitty watches made to appear as better brands. I case if you put enough make-up on a pig it may still be a pig but you could sell it as a lady. ;)
