The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow debuted 60 years ago and was, for 1965, advanced beyond belief…
Much like this M6 Accutron ‘Asymmetric’ which was purchased in 1966 by my mom as an engagement gift for my dad.
I
still remember - as three year old, in 1973 - the hands glowing brightly in a darkened room of the Queen Mary where adults watched black & white footage of the vessel during the second Great War.

Rolls-Royce got the West through that global civil war, part two, too… as anyone with historical knowledge about the Kestrel and Merlin V12 can attest.
Rolls-Royce’s Merlin’s V12 design was also licensed to Packard and was, likewise, manufactured in the U.S. until 1950.
But they never did make any tyres.
