Sticking w/ the Spirit of the things for most of the day today... A Steiny for walking the dogs later this afternoon if it warms up some..

I’m watching in amazement as I see on the news my old stomping grounds near the beaches of Southern California go up in flames.

My parents home was built at the top of beautiful foothills after the two homes before it had burnt to the ground in wildfires.
So, when on one Santa Ana windy day the fire department said we had to evacuate we grabbed a few pictures and a change is clothes and went to my godfather’s house. We watched our neighborhood on the news. After the fire was extinguished in a few days we went back. Our house was still standing…. A bunch of coulter pines provided a break. Our next door neighbors and many others in the area were not so lucky.

And the entire area stank.

What a huge bummer for so many people to have to literally start over. Paperwork, jewelry, photos, heirlooms… gone.

On a more positive note - that clean vintage look of Thunder’s Lawngeens motivated me!
