What, the guy was racing a VW Beetle??
No , gawddamnit! Show some gawddamn respect, gawddamnit! He drove a gawddamn racecar for racing, and then also a Lincoln - for the bitches, gawddamnit! With a 4.4 litre Vee-gawddamn-12, no less! They’d do ninety gawddamn shitty 1936 road miles a gawddamn hour, already!

But, yeeeah… at first blush I, too, thought it looked like one of the early VW Beetles, but the design wasn’t released until the late ‘30s - and, even then, serial production didn’t occur until after the war.
So, no - dear Tazio never druve/droved the Reich’s People’s Car…just the Auto Union, designed by the same guy as the dung beetle.
