And in response to Nuvo's WURW post yesterday

I'll see your MPH and raise you a park brake light, DRUCK (oil pressure), UPM & KPH indications! :mrgreen:

Why is it only unsafe for your engine to revolve between 6,800 and 7,000 revs and ok at 7k and after?

Welp, it give the driver a notice to perhaps shift ± 1000 UPM. The revlimiter is govern by a weighted/spring loaded rotor inside the distributer cap (sumone kneads to splain awl that to Underscore).

My current redline is set two 7300 UPM before the rotor breaks Lisa Sparxxx. Helpes a 53 yearold motor survive abit longer that whey.

God I due love me sum mechanical oldskool tecknology, lyke adjusting breaker points with a matchbook cover "feeler gage"

Instrumentation APPROVED - I like Kilometers per hour AND engine speed in UPM, too, also, as well.

Also, like Cleetus used to say, Dont knot let the roter sprang git tyred or angine be missing you at 4,000/upm!

You’d think it’s juuuuuust about time for it to stop raining here. But, you’d be wrong.

We’ve been asking for REAL rain for three years.

Good news - We got all three years worth!
Bad News - We got it all this week!

Doh!

Also… the racecar has a better example than both previous tachometers because:
1. It’s still a VDO unit;
2. It has a 2-stage shift light (tiny LED above “VDO”); &
3. It has a high-rev memory since tell-tale tachs are no longer a thing…

The only problem is it doesn’t measure UPM, which seems like a shame.
