I’m a fan of that Hamilton (too!), Thunder - looks great!

Admiring a view of space - the future, from the past…. retro-future?

Have a great week Lords!

That is a great question - itself an odd intersection of interesting timing in posing it: watch has always been within about 5 minutes a month but spot on once you adjust it… forward only, since you don’t want to turn against the tiny super-fine 360-tooth now-hard-to-find “index wheel” - since the tuning-fork movement is always humming. If you are t minutes fast? Live with it, or adjust it 11:55 minutes forward, but never backwards.

I noticed after I posted the photo the Spaceview was losing time, so I swapped out the special accu-cell bits that reduce the voltage on a 1.5v to 1.3 on a new battery.

The problem - for me, anyway - is that it requires a 395 (high drain) battery, plus the little bits…. but I had only 399 (low drain) which are the same size and sometimes are interchangeable with a 395…

But it ‘ain’t’ in this case!

It’s now running even slower, damn it.

Funny, I have a crap-ton of batteries but it seems I’m always seeking just one odd size that I don’t have…

So, since it still had an old-fashion ‘wind’ in it… I put this back on this afternoon once I realized the Accutron was not going to cooperate with the battery I had ‘in stock’:
