Hey Mike, is that the latest Gen 4 Monster? I see they went back to the Gen 1 style crown. What's your thoughts on it? Looks tits!
Yep, a current model I picked up a couple of months ago. I intended to buy the blue dial on a bracelet (I almost always prefer bracelets) but side by side the color of this one caught my eye, with the off-white lume and on the black strap. The overall design: case, bezel, dial, et.c. are more refined than previous Monsters, IMO. It feels nice. The bezel is smooth to spin, just the right amount of resistance, and always aligns perfectly at 12 o'clock, unlike my Omega and others. I generally dislike straps but this one feels great, although it's 1/2 inch longer than I would like it. The crown screws in securely, although like many Seiko divers, the threads felt a bit rough at first. A bit of wear and tear and now it screws in nicely. The threads seem longer than most of my other screw down crowns - a good thing IMO, less likely to suffer wear or damage. Hacking and hand winding.
