The Bulova “Hoffman House Rug watch” (a much appreciated gift from a fellow Lord) seen here on sharkskin, was designed to emulate a fancy hand-knotted rug featured in the Hoffman House, which were both designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.


Max Hoffman, by the way, was the Austrian automobile importer who encouraged Mercedes-Benz to develop and export the 300SL as a road car for the American market.

He was also the one who cajoled Porsche into building the 356 “Speedster”, knowing there was a market for that car in the states.

^^^ Wow, Nuvo. I mean, that rocks. Those Bulovas of that period (including the other Frank Lloyd Wright models) were just exceptionally cool. You just made me check out the website, and I was shocked to learn they still have some Wright models. That's gotta be one of the longest-running series in watchdom.


Been, like, years since I did a "his and hers," so here's one. Her's is first, obviously. Well, at least I hope it's obvious.
