I agree with Thunder! All that crap you’re describing is what you do when your grandson is NOT there... the yard will keep - enjoy the cuteness now!!

Yeah, I agree. Is why I did it while he took a monster three hour nap. Got lots of good times with both grandkids this weekend. Was hard to see him leave.

Also, I changed watches in support of Hamilton & Mercedes at the crowd-less British Grand Prix...

That’s one of the reasons I like it... not super-common, but has that vintage vibe - but with an arguably “more useful” (than vintage) proposition by nature of functionally superb luminescence and dial legibility. Nice contrast against the dial which, at times, have me believing I am color blind.

This dial is allegedly “brown” which appears black to my eye in all but the most rare lighting - much like the BBB dial is “blue” (something of which I only recently saw a slight hue - truly an “ah HA!” moment)...

I also like that it has been de-blinged with a satin finish - and I don’t normally care for coin-edged bezels, but they really did a solid job on this one.

Lastly, it’s a solid movement - hack & handwind, instant date rotation at midnight - I believe an ETA 2824-2, but you’d be safer confirming that with someone slightly nerdier...

Oh - and that slightly-more-nerdy-than-I person will probably appreciate it was made under the recyclable auspices of Team Earth and has on the case back an image of the signature of Hans Solo...

...which, if I’m honest, made me think if the strap or springbar should ever give up the ghost this watch is sure to CRASH onto the ground like a poorly flown vintage aircraft...

Whaaaaaaaa...?

Yeeah...

Love this dash board image... but, good heavens, turn that tach, man!

7k rpm should be at 12 o’clock. You’ll see redline in your peripheral vision without even looking!!

Did that with my previous two.

This 50 year-old car isn't course flogged and doesn't experience heel/toe action unless I get in a real bad situation. The 7300rpm limiter reminds me when to shift when I'm not paying attention.

I guess after all this time with only 72k ‘klicks’ it would be crass to flog such a classic... but winding up that linear power curve to 7300rpm is good for it, damn it! You really do owe it to the car to blow out any condensation that may have accumulated in the exhaust from a cold start!
