About the Brand – Christopher Ward

Post by koimaster » April 1st 2019, 9:05am

Christopher Ward is a British watch company that specialises in online sales. More than a microbrand, the company is increasingly mentioned in the same breath as the big Swiss brands.

About the Brand – Christopher Ward

Back in 2004, three Brits – Christopher Ward, Mike France and Peter Ellis – has a great idea: to bring Swiss watch quality to consumers at a lower cost by cutting out the middlemen and selling direct to customers over the internet. That sentence has become a stock-in-trade for every internet watch brand since, but this where the idea originated, and they continue to sell only through online channels to this day.

British Designed, Swiss Built

Although Christopher Ward is a British company, their watches are made in Switzerland. They predominantly use ETA movements (or their Sellita equivalents) but since merging with Synergies Horlogères SA in 2014 they have gradually introduced a number of watches with their own in-house calibre SH21.

FFS, is there no pride in journalism remaining?

Dunno BL. Looks like it was spelled write to me.

I wouldn't describe my little blog as journalism :D

I wouldn’t either.

Sorry, I can be an asshole.

Ok, not really sorry.

Had me a little look-see...

While I'm not much for the brands you're writing about, compared to 9/10'ths of what's out there, your shit's quite readable, and many of your thoughts about CW pretty much parallel my thinking about those turkeys.

Following BL's grammar narzical rebuke, I can only hope you have found the strength to go on. /sarc, duh.

Ha. They fixed the "has" and I may have had too many drinks tonight. OK, I had too many...

Overall, I like CW. Yeah, definitely weird with the logo changes every week, but I like some more than others and I'll eventually get one that doesn't make my head hurt.

Also, disregard everything I've said. Also, I asked all y'all- as a Northerner with an English-teacher mom and, tbh, an English somekindadegree under my belt- for some advice several years ago. As a result, I bought a Hamilton which I love. A CW was a close second, and ... I dunno... I had a thing here...

Carry on
Is it safe?
