Tissot COSC Auto $279 Review

Post by biglove » September 10th 2019, 5:20pm

So I finally took the bait. I mean, it's Tissot and a COSC auto for $279. How bad could it be?

Arrived from Joma in 2 days. Full kit with COSC certificate. Tissot PR-100 T101.408.11.051.00

The good:
39mm wide, 10.4mm tall
20mm lug width
Nice dial
Sapphire crystal with at least some level of AR
Applied indices
Nice hands
See through case back with surprisingly well decorated 23 jewel,?ETA model, movement
Powermatic 80 HR power reserve. Damn!
WR 100m
Signed crown, crisp operation
Smooth as silk winding/setting
Solid end links
Funky polished/brushed bracelet
Friction pins
5 microadjustment clasp
Bracelet is surprisingly comfortable

The bad:
Stamped steel clasp that rattles
Bracelet feels Seiko 5 cheap
Bitch to get the links in/out. Takes a weird wiggle.
Loom? Hahahahahaha. Some on hands that fades faster than an old man's erection

The Ugly:
Weird ass under crystal round magnifier over a square date at 6 o'clock. Takes some getting used to but aesthetically either pleasing or vomit inducing. I am ambivalent about the feature, surprisingly.

Would I recommend and buy again? Hell yes for the price.

For a Swiss mechanical chronometer? A bargain, and classic good looks!

Welcome to the club, Biggie. I have that watch too and there is something compelling about its simplicity.

I thought about replacing the bracelet with a high end leather strap but with the exception of the cheap clasp, the bracelet has a funky vibe to it. Enjoy.

Such a deal!

Tissot is quite alright. Amazed it came with the certificate, especially from Joma.
