Marathon watches - Authentic Military Heritage

Post by koimaster » October 10th 2021, 9:40pm

The company that was to become Marathon Watch was founded in 1904 as Weinstrum Watch, later to be named Wein Brothers. In 1939, Morris Wein founded Marathon Watch, supplying fine precision timepieces throughout North America. Since 1941, Marathon has been manufacturing timing instruments for the Allied Forces, and today the fourth generation of the family continues the tradition with a wide range of instruments measuring time, temperature and distance.

Marathon watches combine military durability with Swiss engineering and craftsmanship to ensure the highest level of quality and precision. Marathon products are manufactured with the utmost care and go through various quality control measures. This attention to quality is supported by a commitment to excellent customer support to ensure the best possible product experience.

How much does it cost to have the tritium gas tubes replaced?
$10,000.

I know of a guy that knows of guy that will do it for $8,927+tax........ but it will probably void the factory warranty if that matters

I believe they replace the whole dial. Looks like $100 (Additional Services tab) plus required Basic Service of $`85 (quartz) - $180 (mechanical).

Jack at IWW is also Marathon certified last I heard and may cost less.

That's as reasonable a rate for factory service I ever heard of - $100 bucks for a new dial - what a great deal. For + $95 over the basic service you get a complete C-L-C, apparently including the replacement of worn parts and a 12 month warranty on workmanship. Incredible.

That said, they have to speed up that site - Pages loaded faster 40 years ago.
