SteelDive UK

Read about this brand at tz-uk. Folks seem to like them well enough. Pretty reasonable prices for what they are. Just remember this a company based in Wales which makes them a shade above the bogans.

ABOUT STEELDIVEUK

Inspired by famous Diver watches from the past, Steeldive is a young, ambitious micro-brand that produces a range of classic watches - powered by a reliable, modern NH35 movement - that are faithful to the ideals and design aesthetics of the originals. The watches look superb, are manufactured to a high quality: and the value is unbeatable.

We are watch collectors and enthusiasts in Cardiff, South Wales. We were so impressed with the quality and value of the Steeldive watches we owned, we wanted everyone to own and enjoy wearing an affordable, classic Dive Watch from Steeldive. So we asked if we could become the authorised distributors for the UK and Europe.

We’re proud to say; SteeldiveUK are now authorised distributors of Steeldive watches for the UK and Europe.

We offer a six month warranty on all purchases and free 1st class recorded delivery anywhere in the UK and mainland Europe by Royal Mail. We aim to get your watch to you within three working days in the UK and five working days to Europe. USA FEDEX Express delivery is £20. Please check the rest of our shipping destinations.

I have spent some time in Wales. Snowdonia ia an awesome place.
Meritocracy: the privilege, wealth and advancement of those who chose their parents wisely.
Capitalism: a cult that promised to do good for the worst reasons.
Nationalism: a profound longing to go back to a past that never existed.

SteelDive came in at the right time with the ridiculous Seiko pricing these days imo. They are filling a void in the $125-200 range where you used to be able to purchase Seiko Divers.

Are they ripping off designs? Without a doubt.

Are they manufacturing watches as good or better than Seiko at less than half the price in many cases? Without a doubt and they even know how to make the bezels align to the dials and chapter rings.

I've been happy with mine thus far. The overwhelming majority of video reviews I've seen feel the same, however I have seen some comparisons between SD, Heimdallr and San Martin where there is definitely some quality differences in bezel action, brushing on cases and bracelets.

From your vantage point, who seems better?

With thanks.

That's a great question. To be honest with you AT, I think it depends on the watch model you are looking for because I've seen varying opinions on different models.
Ex. I see consistently that San Martin has the best finishing (brushing/polishing) on their models, whereas I've seen SD or Heimdallr has better bezel alignment/action. I often wonder if San Martin gets more of a nod because they are by far the most expensive of the 3 and no one has been able to prove yet if they are all made in the same factory that I've seen.
If you're looking for a specific model, I'd suggest researching some YT reviews and see what they have to say and visualize it for yourself. In my personal experience I own 2 of these brands.
1. The Steel Dive Cpt. Willard is spot on and maybe better than the Seiko as everything aligns
2. The Heimdallr Monster is almost spot on with 1 exception. The dial or appears to be off by about 1/2 degree clockwise. MY OCD with these things will make me tear it apart in the future and fix this issue.,

I have no problem with these watches, any of the homage brands. Mostly because they offer a cheap way to see if you want to spring for the real deal and they are easy mod watches. Play around with these for mods and get your practice in at a cheap price. Wear it and see if the size is good for you, the weight, the look etc... Tons to do with these.
In memory of TB/Phfluff, since he isn’t here to continue to give his praise, I will share it for him.
