A retro time piece with a modern touch. A tribute to the 1950s Soviet Space-Era, this is a beautifully crafted Swiss-Made timepiece with a Russian Soul. In acknowledgment of the Soviet’s lead of the 1950s space-race with the release of the Sputnik, the world’s first Satellite this wristwatch features a rivet panel style dial. With strong lumed indices and Arabic numeral minute markings. Thick sword hour and minute hands, with a bright coloured second hand saluting Russian innovation and daring. Vintage style, packed with horology value and built with contemporary manufacturing technology. With a beautiful bezel inlay made of ceramics, the dial is made by a special 2 way hydraulic oil press to give it a thick strong distinct panel look with rivets pressed in to create depth and dimension. With sapphire crystal lens and back it is 20atm (200 metres) water resistance. Its lugless design is an ergonomical feature so the large 44mm diameter fits comfortably and looks good large and small wrists. Featuring a twin compressor style crowns. This feature is very useful for scheduling and allocating time for meetings and travel. It allows you to set the internal bezel for meetings and travel. Making this tool aspect of the watch useful for men on the move. The engine of this timepiece is a Swiss ETA 2893-2. We specifically chose this mechanism for its accuracy and durability. It also is a tribute to the mechanical design of the original Sputnik in an analogue era of technology that predates the digital age. So the reflector ring (internal bezel) of this watch allows you to measure and keep time. On the GMT version, the external bezel, marked with cities around the world, 24 hour GMT hand to be me manually set for where you are to read the time around the world. Packed with useful features for the modern man on the move this timepiece comes with that Eastern European Soviet block boldness with Swiss accuracy and quality components carefully assembled to giving you a distinct and daring watch that stands out. The Gruman Sputnik is offered to you as an essential three hander with a 6 o’clock date window or as a 4-hand GMT world-timer.
