John is a HUGE fan of the brand. Calling Conjurer.
To be truthful, Mr. Loaf, I had a terrible hatred of the Smiths Everest, which, I contend, to this day, is a miserable piece of shit. Smiths is, AFAIK, a zombie brand brought back to life by some Brit, and good for him if he has success doing it. If you look at old news film of just about any bit of English technology in the 1940s on, the gauges were made by Smiths. They well have made the gauges for the de Havilland Comet, the first jet airliner, which had the unfortunate tendency of coming apart midair and plunging the well-heeled, upper-class twits of English elite to a screaming death as they impacted in some bucolic UK field at terminal velocity. But I don't know.

Perhaps Ernie or whoever the fuck bought the name of Smiths has made a better watch than the Everest. God knows, it couldn't have been much worse.
I find tv watches to be like the guys who raise their truck you need a fricken ladder to get in. It’s a attempt to look cool... that’s all.
