Movement replacement question

Post by JAS1125 » February 11th 2021, 7:01am

I have this Bulova, and I shorted out the movement changing the battery

https://www.ablogtowatch.com/the-bulova-hack-watch/

I found the replacement at Esslinger which is on order

https://calibercorner.com/bulova-caliber-7584/

https://www.esslinger.com/miyota-citize ... ght-4-4mm/

My question is, how do I remove the stem?

Any other info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Can you post a close up picture of the movement with caseback off the watch? There's always a small indentation, hole, or such in close proximity to the crown on the movement that you press in with a small pin with one hand while simultaneously pulling the crown out with the other.

Make sure the crown is unscrewed and pulled out to the furthest position. sometimes you might have to try different indentations or holes to find the right "crown release".
Sometimes they even have an arrow pointing to the crown release indentation or hole.
