Admiral Spunk visits Louisiana...and leaves his mark

Post by biglove » July 26th 2015, 8:49am

Have to admit that I was quite pleased with the quality of this little watch and the fact that it is larger than my previous experience with these.

Was comfortable and easy to wear...until...

Seems that with less than 24 hours on my wrist, I either had a reaction to the nickel in the case back or there might be some latex in the strap? Being that I have become quite sensitive to latex over the years of exposure in hospitals, to the point that when I was still in clinical I had to keep an EpiPen with me at all times, I am betting on the latex.

Still, a watch well worth the $35 price and one that I was glad to have been able to experience. The Admiral is now en route to Guam!

The dial quality is quite nice...

The closest Spunk came to the Cheetos test was lying atop a bag of Taqi's in my office at work...

Even after its introduction decades ago, Indiglo is still the tits!

A fierce itching, like fireants biting me, overcame me in a meeting. Pulled the Admiral off my wrist and this was what I found, sadly. He spent the rest of the week on my desk.

Fear the Admiral! ;)

Thanks for doing this, Fogs. Is a great idea and a great little watch!

This is fun stuff guys. Sorry about the rash, tho, love. When I was young, I didn't wear a watch for years, because I used to break out just like that, but I think it was just because back in the day I wore shitty watches. But ya took one for the team, so hat's off.

As much as I hate the phrase, "like a Boss!"

The Admiral laughed at my pain and is none worse for the wear.

The medical term is "contact dermatitis." Isn't contagious.

Nope, I did. Let's just say that the Admiral Spunk lived up to its name.

I'm laughing my arse off over here.

But eww.

Slap some Cortaid on it and get back on the horse....
Used to get that occasionally myself, especially in the summer months

Went away completely within a few hours of taking the Spunk off.

Had to be the strap.

Nope, but it might have helped! Actually, that acronym goes back to the Vietnam era, when there were so many GI's and squids on the island that there was something like a 10 guy to 1 girl ratio, hence some bright mind came up with the "Guam Principle." The last time I was there was the early 80's, when the skipper of the big grey Winnebago wouldn't allow the air wing guys ashore for fear we'd be unfit to fly the next week. Freakin' bastard penguin...he was not a popular dude after that and, alas, I never got to find out if the Guam Principle still existed... :?
