Incoming: Orient Star Oreo WZ0071DG
I usually prefer to get full collector kit but this model comes up so rarely now. Plus it came on a leather strap originally and I do have a spare signed buckle

They look pretty nice on mesh.

There was a range of watches with similar motif

I think those with the bullseye are the best.robatsu wrote: βDecember 1st 2022, 1:10pmThere was a range of watches with similar motif

Those old Orient bracelets can be a bit janky. Good choice to put on leather. Congratulations! Cool watch I haven't seen before.

The WZ0071DG originally came on black leather which is a perfect look for this one.jason_recliner wrote: βDecember 1st 2022, 3:39pmThose old Orient bracelets can be a bit janky. Good choice to put on leather. Congratulations! Cool watch I haven't seen before.
This model has some cachet among OS guys, where a common nickname is Oreo, despite it actually being a bullseye style

Re: Incoming: Orient Star Oreo WZ0071DG
Seriously, these are one of the most liquid OS
There is always a buyer for one of these at prevailing rate, instantly sellable if priced at that point.
Like a yellow hand winding hacking OS300. Even the non hand winding non hacking ones move quickly
Anyhow, I canβt off hand think of an OS you could move substantially quicker than this one
All the other ones in the series gave no special interest or following, just the bullseye black white dial one

The mesh bracelet adds vintage elegance.
Re: Incoming: Orient Star Oreo WZ0071DG
Overall, it rocks the elegance vibe, the look is perfect with a tux.
The only problem is that it is a little thick to really work well with French cuffs. Iβd really like to see this as a thin manual wind only like the OS WZ0011DD
These are quite nice and fairly common on secondary market
