Re: On The Way: Green Orient King Diver JDM LE Version
My first impression is that I was surprised to find an unused green JDM LE version at all, they are defintelty the scarcest and most most spendy by a large margin and the auction price was only 50-60 percent of what I estimated.
So yay on that.
It will be a while before I get it. Has to be sent to auction proxy for repacking and transshipment

Yeah, and the solid link bracelet overall, 200m vs 40,m depth rating, and movement details. But otherwise pretty faithful rendition of original other than color, original was like Model T, you could get it in any color so long as it was black

Dark teal might look good. And Orient did equip one of the models with a leather strap, so leather on these is maybe kosher.jason_recliner wrote: ↑May 21st 2024, 5:53pmCongratulations! Saffiano leather is supposedly water resistant, so maybe something like this could work: Rubber with same look like a tropic as well

I'm pretty basic mate. I reckon a straight up black or charcoal rubber, vented or flat, maybe Orient or Bonetto Cinturini.WISenheimer wrote: ↑May 21st 2024, 7:11pmDark teal might look good. I get that. Actually, there is a strong case to be made for keeping it on bracelet if it is comfy. It is a reissue and the bracelet is true to original in styling and distinctive, not just another oyster on a dive watchjason_recliner wrote: ↑May 21st 2024, 7:15pmI'm pretty basic mate. Very nice. I'd put that on a brown leather strap pronto!

Re: On The Way: Green Orient King Diver JDM LE Version
Good chance I may flip this immediately.
I have recently decided no watches over 41mm for me. Really 40mm is the limit but waiveravle to 41mm with some good reason.
In this case 43.8mm I went on reviewers saying it wears small , coolness, and unobtainiumness, so I put in a bid that I expected to lose and I would think about it in interim. But it slipped thrugh the cracks.
So I dunno, maybe vault it or immediately flip. Or maybe it does wear small enough.
It is pretty cool looking that is for sure and kind of hard to find green JDM LE ones esp in unused condition. Have to wait for my watchmakers inspection and opinion on that point.
