Oh yeah, I think I might be in on this. I only have to wait one month to be an early bird.

Question though.
No information is really being put out yet except pictures.
Is that an ip coating? I don’t think I care for a coating on the movement, it seems it would rub off and create issues with the movement. Am I wrong in thinking flakes can be rubbed off into the movement?

Depending on size and cost, I’m in. A new micro rotor is usually in the high end luxury watches and they are very expensive. I have a couple of vintage ones, but a fair priced new one would be nice.

No way they are aluminium, it will be a PVD coating. At a stretch perhaps the rubies could rub a little off the bevels of their seats but it's not going to matter. And when the movement is serviced eventually, any tiny particles will be blown away.

Very cool movement, love Yema, but I have a feeling it will be pricey if they are only making 2,000 or so.

.

Those prototypes do look cool and has the appearance of anodized aluminum.
I'm kinda curious what the finish watch will look like and pricing for their <2000 pieces.

That say'd, I still don't get the whole startkicking thing -

So a watch company (Yema in this case) has to tease a watch a month in advance, before requesting the needed manufacturing finance money from (in their words) brand amateurs via crowdfunding. Only then can they (in their words) reward those folks in about say summer/fall 2023 ?

Since I don't believe I've ever preordered a product, I reckon it is not for me to understand.

A guy asked about the coating on Facebook and this is Yemas reply.
“ It is in fact PVD on the movement and not a bluing made by heating.
PVD is a vacuum deposition of a colored oxide that forms a protective barrier to the substrate like plating or rhodium would. On this movement, it is even a double barrier because for the PVD to hang well, a plating in palladium is necessary.”
