Time Locker Kouriles Review

If you want a diver’s watch there is almost too much choice out there. The Time Locker Kouriles is the latest entrant into the crowded marketplace.
Time Locker Kouriles Review

The TIme Locker Kouriles is coming to Kickstarter this month. Designed in France, the brand is inspired by 1950s combat divers. The watch certainly does feel macho, with a real heft to its 42mm case that makes it feel more like a tool than a fress watch.

That 42mm case has a solid case back to protect the Seiko NH35 automatic movement and is topped by a slightly domed sapphire crystal. The case shape is reminiscent of Tudor with its pointed crown guards, and the oversized crown is really easy to manipulate. The 120 click lumed ceramic bezel operates smoothly but doesn’t slip and there is not the slightest hint of play. The Time Locker Kouriles is a really well-made watch, in my opinion.

The numerals at 6 and 9 look like they come from a different set than 12 and 3. Tiny minute track. And a silly name like "Time Locker."

Great Scott!

Fuck this thing in the ear.

Not a fan of the fat bezel.

I don't like the font used for the numbers although I like the edging around the numbers.

That strap is cheap and cheesy-looking.

They have a version on their website that has indices for each minute; I prefer that to the empty spaces of the watch shown in the review. But the date in the window is not centered. The window may be a bit small for double digit numbers. A small detail but one that cheapens the look.

Nice pictures; the watch doesn't look cheap(mostly) but it just doesn't quite suit me and I have two Seiko dive watches that I prefer.
