Wow! Such a bargain, you'll want to buy one of each color. :sarc:

I don't understand how they can get their prices so low except they are obviously cutting corners somewhere. Yet they hit all the hot buttons; perhaps those buttons need to be more carefully defined

ETA 2824-2. True workhorse but I'll bet Aquacy is buying the cheapest they can get and not spending any of their time making sure the movement is working.

sapphire crystal (some town in China must be devoted to cranking these out at 10 cents a pop). Surely not all sapphire is created the same. I looked but could not find more information on this.

stainless steel (notice they don't mention the grade; there are plenty of "stainless" steels that will rust given enough sweat or trips to the beach. strange for them not to be trumpeting 316L stainless. if they were using it, they would)

The dials and hands must be über cheap as well.

The band they list as being made of 316L Surgical grade steel, the surgical term being redundant. Makes not listing the steel grade for the case even more unsettling.

They say they use a good lume, the BWG9. But how much do they use, is it well-applied, will it last?

Then somehow they are also able to throw in a "free" silicon strap, a strap changing tool, warranty card, manual, retail hang tag(yes, that is super valuable) and a polishing cloth. All of this and the watch are delivered in a watertight box with "high quality customized foam to fit the watch".

These guys must be magicians to pull all this off.

Would I be wrong to assume the watch feels like it might fall apart at any moment or is Aquacy about to put Rolex out of business?

Checking their website, they are still in business but pushing a spec-reduced Cave Diver model over their earlier ETA 2824 and Miyota 9015 efforts. Prices on the cave dweller a lot lower; seems they are chasing the lowest common denominator now.

https://aquacywatch.com/

they do still have the ETA-2824 models for sale but the orange, black, white mother of pearl and abalone dials are sold out.
