so is it a homage or as we have accused tv watch companies a blatant rip off.

I'm assuming you must be talking about the waffle dial as the rest of the watch doesn't look like the Sumo. If so, I'd say it's a rip-off of the dial as Mark eluded to in his latest YT video which he said he loved the dial so he made one of his own. Personally I love the waffle dials as well as the wave dials Seiko has come out with.

Seems decent for the price.

I always wonder about how durable these sorts of products will be. A decade and more down the track my SKX works as well as the day I bought it...not had that experience with micros.

That's a good question. There are loads of 7002s, even 6309s still ticking. Who knows?
