Sorry to hear this. Just remember, you and your wife’s souls were touched by her and you touched hers. These little furballs bring the best out in us.

Thanks, guys. Here's the thing about Izzy: She's been battling various maladies for the past 18 months or so - but the never acts any different. I doubt she ever will. I think she's a remarkable cat, but I bet all owners feel that same way, so I'll put a sock in it.
