Impossible to photograph. My 18month old hooligan. Will defend our family to the death (very tiring when he's in full protect mode) but lets my toddler treat him like a throw rug.





Great breed, but hard work. They have a very distinct 'teenage' phase.

Best aspect is that they don't shed hair, and if you get them wet they seem to dry in minutes - not like my previous dogs (both died in 2012) that could stay wet for three days and shed black and white hair in snowdrifts (Staffordshire bull / sheepdog crosses)

Nice dog. Are they in any way related to the Portuguese water dog? I had Newfoundlands and Malamutes for years and before that Cavalier King Charles Spaniels which were Carols' favorites. Your photos get me thinking it is perhaps time to look at getting another friend.

Fairly closely related, a little shorter in the shoulder and broader in the chest. He's only a little fella, I'm 6'1" and 192lb and he's hard to hold back - stupidly strong for his size. You can scale him by the soccer ball he's running with. Love Malamutes by the way.

My last puppy




And Kody over the years, from my sons' apartment to our old 5th wheel on vacation, she was a constant until her death at 16 a few years ago. She had bone cancer and Carol took her to have her put to sleep. I could not bear the thought of losing her. Her life long mate was my now deceased Newfoundland Charlie who passed in 1999 at age 15. That is both of them with an accidental puppy.
