Just wanted to. .... HF intro post

Post by Horse Feathers » August 30th 2010, 5:45am

introduce myself.

Horse Feathers here. My friends and some of my "hillbilly" patients refer to me as HF.

Although in the past I tended to purchase the majority of my watches from dubious outlets (and for some reason place my higher end watches beyond the DOF range of my photos) I am hopefully moving beyond that. Speaking of photography that's a hobby of mine. I use (4) systems primarily (down from a dozen or more) and if you look at my EXIF data you will see that I now use the same camera in the same state on a given day, I will now only post my own captures.

As you will see in my Avatar I love cars as well. Am sure the haters will comment that the photo was taken 5 years before I was born, let them hate.

Am here to share a few laughs and better educate myself.

Thanks for letting me join

Hmmm, my fifth post may be a little too early and the title "Fifth Giveaway" may confuse MD. Let me see what my cronies can come up with. See what I did there, I stalled so it will also give me more time to draw attention and allow others to covet someone using their disposable income on truly disposable items.

Welcome, HF! I am delighted you are here at WL and I look forward to seeing all those nifty "pick-ups" of yours and seeing which of *my* lowly timepieces may actually be "HF Approved".

I have also wanted to study at the feet of a master photographer such as yourself.

Could you please explain the "depth of field" technique where the Invicta watches are so nice and sharp and the lowly Panerais, APs, etc. have the lovely "soft-focus" effect?

When and if I can ever afford a Royal Oak Offshore or an 8 day PAM, I want to make sure to keep the Subaquanomas, Bolts and Corduba's nice and sharp in the foreground.

Mark, am guessing you may be pulling my leg

Just to be clear, I am not HT(Jeff) of WG fame.

I wanted to have an ID here that I could have a little fun with and serve as a homage to HT

Just realized that HF joined the forum wayback in August 2010. One of the first 100 members here.

And still with us.

Well said. He now sits at the head table in WIS Valhalla, drinking endless cups of mead, is never bothered with a hangover, and looks down on us and smiles when we eviscerate a Geek.
My little brain can't even comprehend how deep that is.

Good guy, I even forgave him for not being able to use the Groucho avatar so as not to appear a copycat that I had used on sites before my watch forum days and still use elsewhere.

One of the originals for sure.
