My mother and her new husband are in town so I took them to Lynchburg, TN. After checking out the "downtown square", we headed to the distillery, hoping for a tour. Alas, we'd have to wait another hour for the next tour so we headed to the gift shop.

here's what I got:



The Taste Testers bottle on the left is a trial batch; I'll report on it later. The single barrel rye is a bit spicy; could do with a bit of water, imho. No idea on the triple mash; should be good.

Great little town to visit. The tours were always fun, in a "Hee Haw" kind of way.

I've eaten at Miss Mary Bobo's once; never been so stuffed in my life.

You sit at a large round table with several other people. They put the food on a giant lazy susan and you turn that to get to what you want.

The Tennessee Tasters bottle (on the left in pic above) is a blend of their rye and their Tennessee whisky. I really like it.

Lynchburg to Tullahoma, home to George Dickel, is a very pretty drive. Then you can head over to Lieper's Fork and then up to Franklin.

Nissan has brought the new model to our local Cars and Coffee a few times, both pre-production and production cars. It has NOT made me want one, even though that twin turbo motor (came as in the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport I had for 6 months) is a beast. I'll hold out until the NISMO version comes out and see what they do there, but at my age, I'm starting to slow down on the new vehicle purchases. In fact, my 300ZX Twin Turbo is gone... we gave it to our daughter and her husband who drove it back to Reston, VA two weeks ago. Still have the 1971 240Z, the 2019 Mercedes SL450, the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport, the 2022 Camaro ZL1 (just an incredible performance car!), the wife's 2016 Hyundai Equus, and my 2020 Genesis G90.

Lynchburg, Bell Buckle, Liepers Fork and Franklin are all worth visiting if in the Nashville area, and if you're a gearhead, the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville and the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY are well worth the time too.
