Bullet physics aren't grasped by the majority of gun owners.
Cases in point:
A women traveling at a fairly high rate of speed in her car. She had a horrendous bloody wreck. Turns out she had the driver side window down less than .5 inch and a 22 cal bullet fired from a mile (or .5 I forget) away went through the crack and caught her in the grape.
I fired a 1911 at a target 40 feet away. The slug came absolutly straight back up my sight line and hit me. The bullet looked like a shiny dot and went to a rose gold garbage can lid just before it hit. The slug bounced off my bony eyebrow and hit my partner in the lip and teeth. He was standing DIRECTLY BEHIND me looking over my shoulder me for safety.....and I'm ehhhhh trained.

Not true. At least legally speaking...

Can't anyone have an air rifle, even if powerful enough to kill? Or a shotgun?
Not sure but I thought it was true, as I saw it on a vintage airgun site.

Depends on state and local laws. In Virginia, be 18 and pass a background check (usually a few minutes) to buy a gun. I think a pistol is 21.
I don't know about BB guns and such. Probably 16 or 18, but no checks. They're just on a shelf, put it in your cart along with the whiskey and porn, and head for the cashier.
